How to Clean a Blender Safely: 7 Practical Checks
Knowing how to clean a blender safely protects the motor, sharp blades and food-contact parts. Always follow the instructions supplied with your exact appliance. This guide uses the published StarSat SS-B700 2-in-1 Blender as a current product reference, but it does not assume that any part is dishwasher-safe or removable unless the model manual says so.
1. Switch off and unplug
Wait for the blades to stop, turn the control off and unplug before removing the jar. Electrical Safety First advises cleaning a blender only while unplugged and keeping it away from sink splashes.
2. Separate only approved parts
Remove the lid, jar and any approved removable seal or blade unit exactly as the manual describes. Never force a stuck assembly.

3. Keep fingers away from blades
Use a handled soft brush where permitted. If a blade looks bent, chipped, loose or cracked, stop using the appliance and contact StarSat support.
4. Wash gently
Unless the manual says otherwise, use warm water, mild dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and very hot water. Confirm dishwasher safety in the exact model manual.
5. Keep the motor base dry
Wipe the unplugged base and cord with a lightly damp cloth, then dry promptly. Never immerse the motor unit or run water over it. Keep liquid away from the drive coupling, vents and plug.
6. Clean crevices
Food can collect beneath the lid, around seals and at the jar bottom. HealthyWA notes that seals and removable blade attachments need special attention. Rinse permitted washable parts so no soap or food film remains.
7. Air-dry fully
Dry washable parts on a clean rack. Reassemble only when the jar, lid, seals, blade area and base connections are completely dry.

Quick after-use routine
Empty the jar soon after use, unplug, rinse approved parts before residue dries, wash gently, inspect blades and seals, and air-dry. See our appliance cleaning guide and current product range.
